Ignite Fire is a great opportunity for youth and young adults (aged 16-26) with disabilities to connect. It’s a chance to share and discuss issues, concerns, hopes, dreams, and goals with peers.
Topic: Life Connections through Volunteering
For this month’s Ignite, we’ll be joined by Frank Cox of MSU Extension for Life Connections Through Volunteering!
During this interactive session, we’ll explore how to create our own community service activities and discover how volunteering can help us build skills that carry over into other areas of life. We’ll talk about how community service can help prepare us for future careers, build stronger support networks, develop new connections, and support a healthy, active life.
Most importantly, we’ll learn how giving back to our communities can also help us grow personally and discover new strengths along the way.
We’ll also have Fall/Halloween-themed painting canvases available for anyone who wants to get creative! Supplies of canvases are very limited, so please RSVP if you’d like to participate.
Parents and caregivers are also welcome!
