Lunch & Learn Series: Invisible Disabilities

Why is this topic important?

Invisible disabilities are conditions that are not readily apparent, such as chronic pain, mental health conditions, or neurological disorders. These conditions can significantly impact a person’s daily life, yet their invisible nature often leads to misunderstandings, lack of support, and even discrimination. By increasing awareness and understanding, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

In this training, participants will learn about:

  • Who is Disability Network West Michigan?
  • Definition of a disability
  • General facts about disability
  • What is an invisible disability/statistics
  • How to interact with people with disabilities

Who will benefit from this training?

  • Employers, government agencies, schools, health care, non-profit, and for-profit businesses. We can present to any audience.
